  • RGCCISD LIBRARIANS – The librarians from the Rio Grande City Consolidated Independent School District received some free hardcover books for their school libraries in December. These books were donated by Starr Readers of Dallas, Texas and consisted of many award-winning titles including complete sets of the Harry Potter series. Starr Readers - a nonprofit organization that raises funds to purchase books for Starr County students. She and her mother, Evangeline Rodriguez Marino, a Rio Grande City native, visited Veterans Middle School recently so that they could donate these books to the libraries. The librarians are appreciative of the generosity that Starr Readers bestowed upon the district’s students who will ultimately benefit from these books.
