Starr Readers Mission Statement: To provide new and unused books every December to children of Starr County, Texas, which is located along the Texas-Mexico border. Starr County is considered to have one of the highest poverty rates in the United States. Starr Readers helps enamor children with reading at an early age to encourage a lifetime of joy which books can provide.
